While I am a big Samsung fan I feel like they are no longer as aggressive about leading the market, so I explored other options. I wanted to balance tech, picture quality and price. Firmly in the midrange category is this TCL QM7K. It hit all the discriminators - mini LED for great brightness and solid blacks, excellent PQ with good adjustability for movies, sports, gaming etc, and very good for a bright room. The negatives are a cheap feeling remote and enough Google TV bloatware to choke a hippo. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great upgrade

I upgrade to the QM7K from a 49S405 (49" from 2006). This was a huge upgrade for me. It easily connects to my wii-if and I even have an Ethernet port if wi-fi isn't enough. The HDMI, USB and optical ports are on the right side of the TV, so know that when you are planning any cable length, power is on the left. The software change of Roku to Google TV is great since I am already in the Google ecosystem. I was able to sign into all of my accounts easily and the picture looks great. I am in a bright room and the picture looks great. I still see some reflection from the window, however it's better than the previous TV I had. Colors are vibrant and the picture is clear. I am glad I spent the extra money on the QMK7 (vs the QMK6) as the sound is better than the S45H sound bar (non sub-woofer) I used on my old TV. The base is good, and the sound clarity sound deeper to me. The TV allows you to select different audio profiles like the soundbar offered. I was able to easily assemble the adjustable stand and easily carry it by myself. Over all this is a great purchase, and I now have a spare soundbar to put somewhere.
