Will it work with a smaller size container?** A: 3 gallon tub is ideal. It'll look like the picture on the sticker. I think it will be ok to use a smaller container but hopefully it wont get stuck. :) **Q: For how long will this keep ice cream frozen (i.e., around +5f serving temperature)? keeping it colder than +41f is useless.** A: This item keeps the ice cream frozen for approx 3 hours after removing it from the freezer. After that the ice cream slowly starts to get soft but to a soft serve ice cream texture. Overall a very good product....you will have approx 5 hours from the time you remove it from the freezer. **Q: If I used this as an ice bucket is it cold enough to keep the ice cubes from melting?** A: Yes **Q: Could I pre-scoop the ice cream and still keep it cold in this?** A: I would not recommend it, the scoops sitting along the outside would probably hold for a while but the center would not. Unless you have a "deep or flash freezer" (ours is -24 deg) then your scoops would be hard as a rock and give you a little time to get them served. I own an Ice Cream shop so have some experience pre scooping and catering.
