I'm 50yr guy, and while I didn't expect the floral aspect, after a short while of applying all of the potent scents mellow out and blend into a lasting, sexy, and attractive parfum that I completely agree both men and women might enjoy. It is definitely spicy (maybe nutmeg and black pepper?), wood (I would agree to cedar), and the low notes are smoky myrrh incense (likely from the oud (I personally haven't smelled oud alone)) and amber. Again, there's definitely a strong note of rose when freshly applied, so I get why some reviews mention "old lady" scent, but I find it really does mellow and compliment the overall profile given the chance. I really like grounding it with a little vetiver essential oil. As I have never smelled oud on its own, I wasn't certain what to expect, but am very happily surprised.
