I was looking for a coffee brewing system that was simple, packed small, and made strong coffee. This worked fantastically! I made my coffee in this everyday, and was very pleased with how bold the coffee flavor was, and how easy it was to use. I stayed in homestays, AirBnBs, and hostels, and never had to worry about what kind of instant or watered-down coffee was being served! Sometimes I was able to get hot water from my host families, but other times I used an immersion coil heater to boil my water in the mug first. (After it boiled, I dumped the excess water out before adding the coffee). I knew cleaning would be a challenge due to the long and narrow shape, so I bought a spoon/fork combo that connects together to make a long utensil, and this worked perfectly for scooping the grinds out! I was also pleased that using normal medium-sized grounds worked fine in this mug, which simplified resupplying my coffee (didn’t have to find a way to get coarse grinds). And this kept my coffee HOT for hours. The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because the lid is not leak-proof. It’s just a silicone lid and would not protect anything, and you could not safely put this on the side of your backpack to carry with you. That was definitely a number, and almost a reason that kept me from purchasing in the first place.
