It's very lightweight, soft and thin, but not thin in a poor quality way, just lightweight fabric. Which is perfect since this is for my summer comforter and I didn't want anything too heavy. The tufted detailing is thick and very nice. The fabric is smooth and really comfortable. The ties are well secured and the zipper is good quality. It fit my queen comforter perfectly, it looks very nice on the bed. As with any duvet, it's only going to be as fluffed out as the comforter you put in it. I used a fairly thin comforter.
