The scent is aweful, has a slight citrus like smell mixed with a hint of chemicals. I grew up in France and have visited wonderful Perfumeries like Fragonard, who are well known for their wonderful soaps and perfumes and this item did nothing but disapoint. I threw it out and the new Dial hand soap for a fraction of the price is blowing this item out of the water.
