If you're looking for the "dark dried blood" effect, maybe try the Wine velvet instead. If you want a Christmas red, this will be too dark for you. If you want a dark red that's between Santa and Blood, this is it. This is the perfect shade to match my corset, so it will work wonderfully for the coat I will be making.The grain is a little bit large, would work nicely for upholstery or something like that. I'm not planning on using the "stretch" feature of the fabric, so the large grain won't be as noticeable.
