Even though sugar is the second ingredient, it is markedly less sweet and much more chocolatey than Nutella, which I despise for its cloying sweetness. A couple of people found it "bitter" which would be somewhat accurate because it tastes like chocolate, not the sugar that most people like, hence why I love this product. It's also the best price as a general rule. Highly recommended if you like sunflower seeds and strong, dark chocolate flavors.

I bought the SunButter Chocolate Sunflower Seed Butter as a nut-free option because my child’s school is nut-free, and we needed a safe alternative to Nutella. It’s been a great substitute for lunches and snacks. The texture is smooth, easy to spread, and the chocolate flavor is rich enough that my kids enjoy it without feeling like they’re missing out. I also like that it’s plant-based and has some protein, which makes it feel like a more filling option than many sweet spreads. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that you can still taste the sunflower seed flavor slightly, so it’s not exactly like chocolate hazelnut spread. But overall it’s a really good nut-free alternative, and I’ll keep buying it.
