I've tried them all...cashew, macadamia, sunflower, other almond butters, etc. All of the other almond butters were always quite bitter. Not so with Barney Butter. Zero bitterness. It doesn't taste quite like peanut butter, but I find it's the best substitute so far. The only issue I have is that it states on the jar that no refrigeration is required. Now this may be true as far as product longevity goes, but there is some oil separation. I find the separation is minimal if I stir the butter, then refrigerate. Enjoy. Due to his allergy to other tree nuts and peanuts we had to get something that was guaranteed to be free from cross contamination. This was the only product I found which fulfilled this requirement. Thankfully my son passed his challenge. This product however was expensive at £18:95 for a small jar, but was a necessary purchase. It also arrived almost a week late from the expected delivery date, which might have been a problem if I needed it for his challenge in hospital by prearranged appointment and not a challenge at home as this was. It has a nice gentle crunch. I use it on Triscuit crackers with cherry preserves.
