Out of the box the kids put this thing to the test, full speed ahead and straight into reverse. It went under water, i thought well that was a fun 5 minutes, but nope, it came right back up and kept on going! So far its been a pretty great little boat! Go ahead and order batteries for the controller 3 AAA, (i think) to save yourself a trip to the dollar store. Recharge time was OK. It has an alarm that goes off when boat charge gets low to let us know to get it to shore. It's a pretty quick, fun little boat!
