No problems with rust or corrosion on the rotational device, however, the carabiners developed a bit of rust on the part where you screw them closed. We wiped them clean when we realized it and sealed them. No permanent damage and they still worked properly. **Q: What is the rating on the carabiners?** A: They are not officially rated or marked. They are made of steel, and their quality is somewhere between a cheap Home Depot keychain carabiner and an actual rated carabiner (the gate area is thinner than the body). IMO, They are probably fine for a static load like hanging a hammock, but I would not use them for anything subject to dynamic forces (I.e. aerial silks). Is this designed to have two carabiners hanging from the bottom portion?** A: Absolutely not! This is the difference between a swivel with a triangular eye like this one (single point of attachment) and a round eye (which can support two carabiners). I loved the swing but did not buy this product first and attempted to find items at my local hardware store. They had nothing that was rated for holding people. So, I came back to Amazon to find this product. I rigged something up as a temporary solution until this product arrived. My daughter loved to spin in her new swing. (The swing which I also recommend is the 40" diameter Swing by Swing Monkey.) After I put this device on the first thing she wanted me to do was spin her. I gave the swing a little push and it began to spin so smoothly and it kept going, and going, and going. I am not sure it was ever going to stop. My daughter finally put her foot down to stop herself. It was amazing.
