Remove the oxygen absorber (sachet) from inside the pouch. Add 180ml of boiling water, stir the contents, and then close the bag and wait 5-8 minutes for the food to re-hydrate REMARKS:. Cold water will suffice in an emergency, however the re-hydration time is much longer. The oxygen absorber helps maintain product freshness and is non toxic. Do not eat Expedition Foods meals have a long shelf life of up to 5 years.

I had high expectations but it failed to deliver. I followed the instructions to the letter and kept it warm while rehydration in a heat pouch. The chicken was hydrated and tasted of unseasoned chicken. The peas and sweetcorn were like bullets and even after a half hour soak, did not rehydrate.This made for a disappointing dinner half way up a mountainside. Most was carried back out and binned. Pot noodles reconstitute better.I am still searching to find a decent lightweight dried food. So far I have had to rely on wet MRE which isn't the best weight wise but at least has taste and texture.
