It work well for the growing solution and I use a slip stream and valve back to the storage to adjust for the best spray. I have used many cheap pumps and for some liquid movement they are adequate, but for this application I need a pump like this one, I can count on to provide the volume and pressure I need and also know it will keep on pumping. It has been running smoothly 24 hours a day, pumping 70-90 gallons per hour of fish water for over a month now without a single problem. It doesn't clog on fish waste, but pumps it right through. It continues to pump even when my supply voltage drops as low as 2.5 volts; it just keeps going (slowly, I'll grant you) lifting water to about 4 feet higher than the tank it's in. I even had a voltage regulator fail and send 20+ volts to this thing; it happily pumped twice as much water as normal for about 6 hours before it was discovered. I replaced the regulator. I am running it of a solar powered 12VDC ATV battery with a manual on/off switch. This pump moved plenty of water to create a nice flow coming out of an antique hand pump which is about 2 feet tall. The output diameter is very small and tends to want to spray the water. To slow down the flow, I added an adapter that changed the diameter to 3/4 inch tubing going up through the pump. With this, it created a nice volume and flow.
