I’ve used the compartments inside to store leases, food etc. I’ve traveled thousands of miles with two 50lb dogs in the back seat with these. I do put a pillow in the center between each well in my SUV because it did have a break between the two extenders. **Q: What are the dividers made of that provide the structure and support for the extender? I'm hoping this is sturdy enough for a 90 lb. dog.** A: I’m not sure the exact material..but my dog is 75 pounds and it works very well for him. It’s quite sturdy! **Q: I need instructions for this item, I am unable to put it together, I think missing some parts, can you help?** A: I purchased this item a few years ago and I do not recall how it went together but I seem to recall it was basically easy to put together. I am sorry I can't be of more help.
