**Q: Is it really aluminum, not brass?**
A: The two I received are brass colored Aluminum

**Q: Can this item be used for the back hot/cold water of the washer machine?**
A: It should fit as a cap.  Size and threads are the same as a garden hose.

**Q: This cap will hold a leaking of outdoor bib during freezing winter**
A: There's a fair change that capping a bib in the winter may explode your line if it freezes. But yes, it should cap an outside bib. This is a standard size, just like a garden hose. I actually used this to cap a leaky drain valve on a hot water tank. In that moment, it was an easier and faster solution than draining the tank and replacing the valve. And before anyone complains, it was the lower maintenance drain valve - NOT the over-pressure valve.

**Q: Does this fit a 1/2" soaker hose end?**
A: These fit a standard 3/4" hose end.  Not sure I even seen a hose that had 1/2" fittings.
