It is a workhorse pan - great for bread and stews. **Q: Mine is badly stained. What is the best way to remove stains?** A: We recommend mixing hot water with baking soda until it creates a paste. Let it soak inside your Dutch oven and rinse off with boiling water. This should remove stains on the inside of your Dutch oven. **Q: How does this compare in quality/durability to Le Crueset, Lodge and Amazon Basics brand?** A: Most enameled cast iron you find is about the same in terms of durability and quality. Outside of isolated production issues or shipping damage enamel from any company should be very similar AND very good. The foundries in Northern China that Lodge, Marquette Castings and Amazon use produce quality that is right on par with the French brands and produce a TON more volume. Where the French brands have historically separated themselves is in their QA process - in the past they have been able to do a better job with inspection before packaging than some of the other manufacturers that partner with Chinese foundries. We solve this through rigorous inspections upon packaging and fantastic customer service. That warranty that all the companies offer is only good if you can easily get in touch with the MFG and quickly get your problem solved.
