Turning it back into sitting position is difficult if you are a weakling like me because it has two sitting positions and doesn't like to move easily between the two without a bit of force.The mattress has springs. I may have not read the description thoroughly enough but I did not realize that it had springs until arrival.It did not come with instructions to assemble the futon, only instructions for the drawers. They had a video on their website but it was not a video for this exact futon so assembly was more difficult and time consuming than it led me to believe. It definitely requires two people to assemble and quite a lot of space.Drawers are not attached, they merely roll underneath on wheels of their own. The mattress is pretty firm but I'm hoping a mattress topper will help with that. Assembly wasnt bad, it took me about 2 hours by myself but it would have been faster and easier with a second person. The only real downside I've found is that it's basically impossible to put up/down by myself which is pretty disappointing.
