The only instructions I received was for a commercial machine. Does anyone has the mesaurements for a 1 1/2 quart?** A: 7/8 cup to 3cups cold water for 1 1/2 quart maker Had to e-mail the makers **Q: How to mix per small container** A: On the back is the "bulk" recipe, because I don't know your package size let me give you my solution. Take the amount of the package and the mix amount and calculate the small portion size. EX: I have a 6lb bag which is 96 oz. It makes 8 quarts. 96 oz/8 qts = 12 oz/qt = approx 24 tablespoons or 1 1/2 cups. Adjust flavor from there. I use milk instead of water for a creamier taste. Also, if you put fruit in the blender, add an approx. amount of frostline and milk it makes a great ice cream - strawberries and blueberries are wonderful and sugars are not needed with this mix. Coffee creamers and drink mixers also add a nice flavor. I suggest crushing oreos in a bag to add just before serving. Good luck, just calculate down to the amount you will need and adjust for flavor. **Q: Can the powdered mix be put right into a blender with liquids and other add-ins and ice and made into a smoothie?** A: I don't see why not. I've never tried it that way but it sounds good! **Q: I know I read a review that said they mix up a large quanity and keep the liquid in the fridge for immediate use whenever. how long does it last?** A: I’ve never mixed it ahead of time so I don’t know. My husband hinted he wanted a soft serve machine so I bought the Dash machine and this. We used what someone suggested in the reviews. 1/3 cup mix 1 1/4 cup milk. We used 2% 1/2 cup heavy cream We churned it 25 minutes but that was a bit to long. It was hard coming out. 20 minutes would have been perfect. We froze the rest. My husband wanted it the next night. It was hard as a rock. He let it sit on counter for just a few minutes and it was soft serve again. This mix is flavorful, but if you want that vanilla strong then add a tiny bit of vanilla extract. We didn't add sugar for 2 reasons. 1- my husband is a diabetic 2 - It didn't need any. Tasted great just as we made it. This was a bit expensive but still worth it since it is a 6lb bag. Very easy to use. I bought airtight containers which makes it easier to get out. Quality was great.
