When used correctly, if your password is compromised it does an attacker no good unless they have the device as well. for myself, I used separate passwords for various purposes, so a single breach will not place at risk my other accounts. And most are not protected by MFA, since thet are trivial. But for VPN access into my home, and finance accounts, I do use hardware based MFA.
