The Emperor also has the settings engraved on the collar. The mildest setting on the Emperor is milder than the mildest setting on the Crusader- hence, the Emperor is a friendlier razor than the Crusader and is suitable for both daily shavers or people who shave every few days (as the lather channels helps drain thick soap scum and long hair). The Crusader on the other hand is more suitable for experienced daily shavers who want something more head heavy and something more intuitive. Robert Vikings Blade **Q: Can this shaver be used to shave private parts, shave your head, etc? I've experience bad results with none adjustable types.** A: I've never tried using this razor on my head or private parts and quite frankly, I never would. This is a fairly aggressive razor and pretty unforgiving. I have very thick, curly facial hair so I need a hard core razor to get an effective shave. I'm an experienced DE shaver and I've still nicked myself a time or two with this razor. I'd recommend you use a less aggressive one, especially down there. **Q: What is the warranty on this razor?** A: You will get the standard one year warranty against manufacturer defects. Having said that, we're known to be a bunch of friendly chaps and often times we tend to help customers even long after their warranty has expired. **Q: If there are no numbers or markings, How do you know where to adjust to? Are there clicks? Is there a mid-point?** A: We have markings to indicate which direction to dial for a more aggressive or a milder shave. The Crusader has a continuous adjustment band instead of the standard click system. Vikings Blade’s intention of this no-number, no-click, no-pointer design is to create a pure fluid shaving experience for advanced users, where they will quickly learn to gauge the Crusader’s aggression level simply by looking at the blade gap. The razor was beautiful and well balanced. But the adjustment mechanism got stuck very frequently, and the bay doors rattled if not firmly closed. Being made of zamack, I hesitated screwing the TTO too firmly. I was a novice shaver back then. Tried to use this with 7o'clock greens and Gillette SBs. Gave myself several nick's and weepers, and I hated this razor. It felt like everytime I used it, I needed to pay in blood. Fast forward half a year and multiple razors in between, I learnt to respect this razor a lot more. Armed with better technique, and some Gillette Platinum Blues, I have had some of the smoothest shaves EVER with it. Close and efficient. First pass on the scalloped bar, followed by ATG on the smooth bar with a third round of XTG, I am getting some real BBS shaves here. The trick I learnt was that the TTO mechanism doesn't quite clamp the blade down incredibly tightly. I believe the gap between the bite point and the razor's edge is slightly too far, allowing the blade some flex. Mind you the blade does NOT wobble, but there is a bit of flex. So if you try to cut stubble that is too long ATG, especially if you have really stuff and coarse hair like I do, you will get tugging and skipping, which lends to some nasty scrapes and weepers. Now I dare say, that this is one of my favourite shavers, coming in just behind Muhle Rocca and Game Changer 84 OCs.
