The assembly was very straight forward & easy! No screw drivers or any tools needed which was also a plus! I usually end up needing my husbands help putting things together but I was able to get it set up on my own which was nice. Only thing I don’t like is it comes with suction cups for the 4 corners, they don’t stay, however the play pen doesn’t move on it’s on anyways while she is in it so it’s not a big deal. I did end up buying a mat for it which you will too especially if you have hardwood floors as the bottom has no padding at all.
