In the interest of space and ease of cleaning I decided to purchase a hand mixer. Additionally the interface to change the speeds is easy to use and very intuitive which is wonderful for times where you may want to start the mixing slow but then speed it up after the ingredients have begun to be incorporated with one and other. The mixer also came with a lot of attachments out of the box, the beaters are great for batters and frostings. However I was pleasantly surprised to see a pair of dough hooks and a whisk. I haven't used the whisk yet but the dough hooks! let me tell you what, I never expected a hand mixer to be able to handle dough as well as this thing does. Such a small tool was able to handle enough dough for me to make two pizzas without even having to break out a stand mixer or manually knead at all. Lastly the hand mixer also came with some nice add-ons like a bag that's able to hold all the attachments which will certainly help with not misplacing them.. or at least keeping them together so you're not digging through drawers for one of the two beaters. There is also a great rubber strap on the cord for the hand mixer which helps hold the cord in a shortened bundled state rather than completely uncoiled. I would highly recommend this product based on my experience for it's easy of cleaning, the power it's able to produce, how easy it is to operate, and the versatility with the attachment's that came with it. Watts = volts x amps. That's .6 x 120 = 72. The amps are printed on the heel of the mixer. KA likes to claim their DC motors are more efficient, but that does not affect the wattage - even if it were true. There is a reason KA doesn't post the wattage on their box: they are low in power. By the same token, they are light weight and have a true slow start. It just takes longer to whip the potatoes. (The newest KA 7 & 9 speed mixers have .9 amps which gives 108 watts.) The 5-speed does just fine whipping cream, especially with the whisk (sold separately) . **Q: I would like to know if the lowest speed is slow or is it a warp speed like most blenders? I am 72 and have had quite a few of them through the years. **Q: Where is this product made?** A: After being built in China for six years, Whirlpool Corp.'s KitchenAid hand mixers are again being manufactured in the U.S., at the Whirlpool factory in Greenville, Ohio, but the hand mixers are not very powerful even on high, so if you really want a good mixer get the kitchen aid stand mixer with the steal bowl, the artisan mixer has a glass bowl that can break, and the mixer that does not tilt is harder to use, had one in blue for over 30 yrs and loved it before it was stolen :( **Q: Does this come with the accessories (dough hooks and whisk) or just the beaters?** A: Warning: I bought the 5-speed mixer, and the ad states you are getting the heavy duty Turbo Beaters II.
