Review: A slow grower - Started this 4-1-25, my dad’s birthday. It is now about 6” tall, very happy, add a little fertilizer now and then. Being in North East, it’s not going out for a while, but write me again in 200 years and we should have shade.
Review: Germinated! - One of the seeds sprouted. It was precisely on time according to the instructions. Very excited to watch it grow. I’m not disappointed that none of the other seeds made it- I only wanted one seedling anyways. I was surprised at how little dirt and rocks came with the greenhouse. Also the lid doesn’t fit perfectly on top of the greenhouse. TBH, I’ve been highly suspicious from the start. But none of that matters because one of the seeds germinated! Five stars!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use heating mat to promote germination?**
A: I didn't see any need to deviate from the directions. Have ordered several of these tree's and have had a 80%-100% germination rate per container. They take time though.

**Q: Can they be grown indoors as bonsai?**
A: Your seed is started indoors to take advantage of your homes consistent warm temperatures, that are augmented by putting your assembled (and pre cold stratified) kit in the sun for even more heat. The goal is to germinate your seed, transplant it and then transition it to out of doors. Giant sequoia make great bonsai but as they are not a tropical plant they can not be grown within your home long term.

**Q: Which month is the best to put the seeds in the fridge? I live in a climate in which it doesn't dip below 40degrees F.**
A: You can plant the seeds any time being that you are simulating cold stratification by placing them in the fridge but it is highly recommended by The Jonsteen Company to plant in the natural cycle of the season which would be spring.

**Q: Can I take to Europe?**
A: Giant sequoia seed are not a banned agricultural item in any European country, to my knowledge.

### ⭐ You only get 3-5 seeds. Super misleading ad and product.

I find this product to be very misleading. They don't specify how many seeds you get. That's because you get 3-5. Never mind that *their* photograph shows at least 9-10 that I count. So if you are lucky, you *might* get 1 or 2 trees if everything goes well. I am confident that their very nice packaging costs far more than the actual seeds. If you have some potting soil or peat moss or coco coir and a baggy, don't waste your money on this kit. For the same money, you can get 40 seeds from their (much less misleading) competitors. When I called to get a refund, because I only got *4* seeds, they responded that 3-5 is what you get. Sorry/not sorry. If you want a cool round box, go ahead. If you want more seeds to get more actual trees, this is a complete waste of your money. I did not receive a refund despite the fact that I respectfully and politely registered my displeasure at their very misleading ad and product.
