Too much washing messes with my hair balance but I find if I am active outside, that's less of a concern but I still tend to alternate between this and a less intense shampoo. It has a very light scent out of the bottle, somewhat citrusy. Feels more like a medium-thick lotion than typical sticky shampoo. I apply, let it sit a little bit, then rinse and apply conditioner. From what I can tell, my scalp is less red and itchy and flakes very much reduced. Patches are gone, hair is soft, and I don't need to worry about everyday snow. It may cost more than say Head & Shoulders but I do think it's worth it. But everyone is different so what works for me may not work as well for someone else.
