It's extremely sticky and near impossible to get out of the container--it does not "flow" like honey or any syrup. It's nearly a solid but worth the effort for the results. Best suggestion is to dip your hand in cold water and scoop out a good pinch with your fingers. (I watched a few videos on how to use it, this was the best idea). It works and your fingers won't get sticky. It's impossible to measure this way (forget about getting it into OR out of a measuring spoon) so if you need exact proportions use a scale by placing the vessel you're going to heat it up in on the scale and drop the pinch(s) into that. The one I received did not so there is no way to know if it was opened previously.** A: Yes, mine did. I can't remember now if it was a partial--just around the lid/upper part of the container plastic shrink wrap OR if the shrink wrap went from top of lid to the bottom of the container.
