## Description

3M Fire Block Foam FB-Foam is a ready-to-use foam fireblock designed to help prevent the spread of flames and smoke in residential Type V and commercial non-rated construction. During application the foam expands up to 200% in volume to effectively seal interior voids around wires, cables, pipes and other penetrations. It also acts as a draftstop; by restricting air infiltration it helps insulate floors, ceilings and walls. 3M Fire Block Foam FB-Foam meets ASTM E 84 (modified) Class 1 for smoke spread and flame development. It also meets current fireblocking sealant requirements of the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC), and state and local codes based on the IBC and IRC. 3M Fire Block Foam FB-Foam is recognized as a requirement to the methods prescribed by IBC and/or IRC codes for maintaining the integrity of penetrations of fireblocking and draftstopping.

Review: Fire resistant peace of mind. - I have a wood stove in my shop. I use this where the chimney goes through the side wall. I spray it heavy to ensure no sparks escape. Easy to use and lasts longer than the sheet metal chimney pipes. Peace of mind when I have the stove fired up for long periods.
Review: Worked perfectly for what I needed it for. - I used this for the area that my copper pipes came through the floor near my washer. There was also a draft coming in from there. No longer os there a draft, or ants coming in as I have a dirt basement being in an older home in northeast pa, this is ant season here in the spring. They will still find a way up I'm sure. It just won't be there lol. Great product. Easy to clean when still wet. So if you make a mess or put it somewhere you didn't want it, simply wipe it up quick and it will all come up easily.

**Q: Will this hold up to tempetatures up to 320 degrees??**
A: No it is only rated to 240 degrees Fahrenheit

**Q: Can this be painted. If so, what kind of paint?**
A: Yes any

**Q: can this be painted over?**
A: This is not a product that should be exposed such that they finish paint coat would be necessary. It should be used in the rafters and in areas you’re trying to fire block to prevent the spread of flames in an emergency situation. I have no idea if you can paint this, because I don’t think you should ever need to.

**Q: Closed cell or open cell?**
A: Should be on the label imo because of its density I would say closed I've seen open cell nowhere near as thick as this you would have to cut this stuff off open cell I can rip w my hands
