It's strong, I use it as a prewash for the entire car. **Q: Safe for matte rims** A: I would try a small area of the wheel and not let the product dry at all, after you've tried that small area you should have your answer but I honestly dont see it affecting your matte wheels any. **Q: Does this strip wax/coatings from a coated wheel?** A: yes over time this product can strip wax and coating from a vehicle or wheel. **Q: Can this be used on salt water stains on boats? And can it be used on automotive paint?** A: We would not recommend Dark Fury on a non-coated painted surface.
