The brush works well for detangling of dry and wet (which is what I needed in the shower for my long wavy tangly hair). For wet hair, I still need conditioner or some product to help detangle. This is the best all around cat brush. They love cleaning their teeth on it (just hold it up to their face) and love being brushed with it, even when they don't really like other brushes. It's perfect for preventing mats in long hair cats and will grab a lot of the loose fur that less fistidious groomers may have. I've tried other human hairbrushes for them, but they seem to highly prefer this one! My almost 12 year old cat has been cleaning her teeth on this brush probably 1 - 3 times a week for several years now. Her vet says her teeth look like those of a cat half her age!
