Ambulant disabled so spend a lot of time sitting and I have no bum ! Previously used - two sofa cushions which i ruined and were not even comfy at all. The difference between this and my normal dining room seat (long periods using laptop) is night and day. It does NOT squash down thinner. It is extremely supportive and very comfortable. People seem to concentrate on how firm or not it is. In those terms I would describe it as Medium-firm. However the important factor should be how you feel AFTER using it. I feel no pain or discomfort. The cover is very tactile. The quality seems excellent and I was happy at the price point. There are cheaper but for me you may well receive an inferior product. A few extra quid and you can transform most of your day - when else can you say that ?
