Lots of people will use darken wax to give their furniture an antique feel/look. This may be the outcome if you do not strip or sand down the cabinets. If the original finish has faded and wasn’t a lacquer, then the wood should soak it up and darken. Can 2 coats be applied to obtain this?** A: In my experience, it won't darken more with the second coat. The dark seems to darken over time, but you won't see that much difference between this and the regular oil treatment. It will deepen same as any oil treatment. **Q: Can I apply this over an older application of original odie's oil?** A: Yes, but it depends on how long since the last application. All finishes similar to Tung Oil and Linseed Oil, which Odie’s has as an ingredient, will require a re application after some time due to evaporation. The amount of evaporation depends on the climate where the piece of wood is stored; dryer and hotter climates will evaporate faster. So, yes you can apply over another coat of Odie’s, just as long as the substrate is willing to soak more of it up. **Q: could this product be used on wood filler?
