Kind of like a shortbread cookie; not hard to eat. Lots of sugar. I received my order in mid December 2016. Manufacturing date was October 2016. Stated shelf life is five years. I plan to carry one in each car. Would also make good trail food while hiking. 410 calories per bar, Carbs 54 g, Fat 18 g, Protein 6 g, Sugar 32 g.
