We bought this for a 7-day float trip because the advertised solar charging seemed perfect for being off-grid. It was fully charged when we left, but once that initial charge was gone, we found out the solar panel was about as useful as a sticker. It didn’t charge the unit at all. Instead, we were forced to sit there hand-cranking this overpriced paperweight just to squeeze out enough power to be almost completely useless. Nothing says “reliable emergency gear” like feeling like you’re churning butter for a few minutes of battery life. When you’re miles from civilization, you need equipment that actually works—not products that rely on marketing instead of engineering. This thing failed when it mattered most.
