Review: High quality - I've been playing the violin now for a year and a half and have been using rosin that was recommended by the local music store. I reasoned that the rosin I was using was in part causing me to play poorly, the rosin would build up in clumps on the strings causing a scratchy sound. So in a search of the internet I came across Sartory Rosin as being highly recommended. I have to say it made a huge difference in the sound quality. The Sartory rosin has a very fine grit that made my fiddle sound consistently smooth with a rich tone. I've still got a long way to go learning the fiddle but a least I can take rosin off my list of excuses as to why I'm not doing as well as I'd like.

**Q: This is a light rosin, correct?**
A: Depends which you get. The original is a classic light rosin, while the peccatte(spelling?) is a dark rosin specially formulated to play like a light rosin.

**Q: Has anyone compared the darker winter “ peccatte” version with the original amber sartory? Anything to note/share?**
A: This dark rosin gives the bow a little more bite on the strings than the amber, resulting in better articulation and, on my instrument, a bigger sound on the G and D strings.
