Does it have a name brand receiver?** A: The receiver in this plane requires that you either use the transmitter that comes with your plane or a transmitter that uses “Open TX” protocol. I use a Jumper T12 transmitter, which uses the Open TX protocol. The setup for the Volantex planes with an Open TX transmitter requires a pretty intensive learning curve and is not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately, you cannot use any of the Spektrum transmitters (DX6 etc.) with the Volantex planes, as Spektrum does not support the Volantex protocol. The little transmitter that comes with the Volantex plane is actually not bad. With practice, you can even learn to fly your Volantex warbirds in “experienced mode” with this little transmitter. **Q: can i put a spektrum recever in it?** A: I was wondering the same thing, but unfortunately, I don’t think Spektrum makes a small enough receiver to fit in it, plus, you would have to remove the little foam cover on the bottom which is glued in place, and I haven’t done it because I’m afraid it will ruin the plane. Just realize they stuffed a lot of electronics and technology into a very small space, so to be honest with you, I think you’re better off just leaving the plane as it is and using the included receiver and transmitter and just have fun with it. As nice as it would be to be able to link it to your Spektrum receiver, I just don’t think it’s worth the hassle. The included rec/trans actually work really well for a $120 rtf plane. I’ve had zero issues and have gotten close to 1000’ feet away and not lost control. Hope this helps…happy flying **Q: question..how many batteries come with this plane..???** A: It come with two batteries. **Q: Can someone tell me the density of the epp foam used?** A: I can't tell you the density, but it's solid enough to withstand many crashes. It will chip but hasn't looked like breaking despite some spectacularly bad landings including one into the side of a my van.
