The magnets work well and are very strong. The cover itself is great at keeping the light out and you can feel it keeps the heat out too as the silver side does get warm. Put this up in reasonable time, only had to wait 1 hour for the magnet to fully stick before I put the sheet on. The room is proper blackout. Prior to this, we had blackout curtains but lights were still shining through the edges (see picture which was taken in a cloudy day). Once I put this up, it’s pitch black! I could not even take an after picture as it was just black. Did it for my baby’s nursery. So far it seems sturdy, not needed to take it out again and again yet so can’t fully comment on longevity. The adhesives seem strong when I installed it.
