There's a lot of vibration and the settings are sufficiently different that they each have different applications. The shape and build of the massage ball makes it a great choice for deep tissue, trigger point, and even reducing discomfort in tendons.I prefer a massage ball to a foam roller in general, and this product is a great choice for really targeting specific areas. The vibration is similar to physiotherapy techniques I've dealt with and often reduces the pain you'd expect from a regular massage ball or peanut.If I was pushed to provide constructive criticism, the only thing I can think of is that there's a slight imbalance of vibration.
