Shelf life for the most part under normal storage temperatures should give you 8 to 10 years. I've consumed some that were 15 years old and they were fine. **Q: Why does the pic show a 2/21 inspection date when it is not yet February?** A: The inspection date is three years after the pack date and is generally the midway point of the shelf life of 5-7 years. **Q: Is containerized water needed to prep included with each meal?** A: No. Water is not included in the MRE pouch. Date of inspection wasn't exactly as listed (listed as 2026 DOI, these were mid-2025 DOI) but didn't hurt the quality one bit. Menus may vary a bit from what's listed, but that's a known thing with MRE cases if you've ever bought one.
