Is this true? How? No power output.** A: It's a passive unit and it will not power up any equipment like guitar or keys. One end has unbalanced input (TR) and parallel out the other end, has balanced XLR so it can be used in a XLR mic input on a mixer. The main purpose is so in a studio setting a guitar player can go into an amp via (parallel out ) and XLR to the input on PA /mixing board to record effects while recording . This will not solve your issue, Example -in my band we rehearse in my studio garage my bass player doesn't bring his amp-( to heavy ) he plugs his bass in to a DI box with 1/4 inch TR (Tip Ring) and the other end I use a XLR cable from the DI box to Mic input on my mixing board. It increases the impedance --Unbalanced to Balanced..
