A: After working on it for 5-8 minutes I used one of those round rubber gripper type jar openers. It took a couple of more minutes but the lid FINALLY released. This cap design is worthless, especially for those of us with arthritis.

A: HELLO SANOFI! Look at all these comments! Why in the *%^+ do you make a product for arthritics that's impossible to open without causing more pain???

It's been FIVE years since this question was asked!

**Q: I know this is a childproof lid, but neither  my husband or I can get the darn thing open. We squeezed the flat spots  as we can. how does it work?**
A: my mom can't get it open either, I just twist it realllly hard (without holding down the flat spots) and the plastic things inside lid will break then you can twist on and off easily.  I don't know if that's how the manufacturer intended it to be opened, but that's the only way I can get them open.
