It produces a maximum of 91 cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air volume and weighs 3.9 pounds. The XBU03z is the new brushless motor model with 5 times more power (459 cfm) and weighs 6.5 pounds. Both are sold without a battery. I have 6 other Makita tools and have plenty of batteries so glad they sell it that way. The XBU can do jobs much faster. Love mine. **Q: Can i use a 18v bl1830 with this blower. if not can the lxt battery noted for the blower by charged on the bl1830 charger?** A: I don't know about the BL 1830 battery, but it does NOT work with a BL 1815 battery. I bought this unit specifically because I was told by a Makita salesperson that all Makita 18V tools work with all Makita 18V batteries. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Returning this blower. **Q: Battery Life? How long will it work with 5amp battery on the Highesr level?** A: I’m using this blower and purchased the Makida 18v 5ah batteries. My total run time mostly at high speeds was exactly 12 minutes. Replaced the dead battery with a fresh Makida 18v 5ah and another test was conducted also at high speed. The second result was timed at a little over 14 minutes. I never came close to the advertisement time of 20 minutes at constant high speed. **Q: Does the 6.5 weight include the weight of the battery? If not, what does the battery weigh?** A: I suggest at least 4ah Makita brand battery. The 4ah weight 1.33 lbs. Love the blower. Paid for itself with the first usage (didn't have to hire the cleanup crew). Made clearing leaves from all the delicate plants very easy, and probably much safer than trying to rake it all out (much less damaging if you keep the airflow at the base). I started using it after some rain, and I'm really impressed that it handles wet leaves just fine (I was worried about a lack of power). A new-ish 6 amp battery doesn't last very long, maybe 10 minutes or so, so it really helps to have extras. The product photos show it with an extra nozzle, and it's not very obvious unless you do your research that the Z indicates it doesn't have a nozzle, so I'm disappointed to not have that - it would have helped with some finer work around plants. Nevertheless, I love the locking trigger, simple design, and light weight.
