However, not wanting to have wasted my money, I simmered them for a while in plenty of water, made a slurry of them in my blender, strained the juice out of the pulp, added a cupful of raw cane sugar and some wine yeast which I had obtained from Amazon. The beautiful dark purple-red juice is now happily fermenting in a 1.75 litre glass jug and is already pleasantly fizzy.
