A: It is a resin. They are lovely.

**Q: How wide/tall is the square at the bottom? I want to get a customized plate with my cats name to attach but need to know measurments first.**
A: 3" high  base is square approx.1 1/2" to 2"  but you should wait to get the item and make sure.

**Q: Does it have an opening on the bottom so it can be used as an urn?**
A: No there is no opening, I am very sorry for your loss.
