My guess is that these NC25 are a refined, more streamlined version of those original buds from Kickstarter at a cheaper price now that they can get their costs down, but I don't have the originals to compare to. I do have the NC50 bluetooth earbuds from Linner however. So, let's get into it!Pros:-High quality ANC. It's not the best there is, and probably not even the best ANC earbuds that exist, but I'm very impressed with the lack of background noise when listening with ANC enabled. Perfect for low-volume distractions like an office, airplane, etc.-Great battery life, and continues to work as standard earbuds when ANC is turned off-ANC is enabled and disabled via physical switch! Very easy to tell if ANC is on or off without even having the headphones in, so you know if you're wasting battery or not.-For the price, probably the cheapest ANC headphones you can get-Compact, and includes carrying case. Definitely easy to travel with these and nice to have ANC in such a portable package.-Monitor mode is hugely underrated. ALL ANC headphones should have this. A press of a button lowers your music volume and increases background volume, so you can have a conversation, listen for an announcement on the P.A, etc all without removing the earbuds.-Sound is good. They definitely favor bass, but to my ears they sound good and I enjoy the punchy lows.Cons-ANC puck is bad. The placement on the headphone line is bad, the 'monitor' button is small and hard to find/press, and the puck itself is pretty large for what it is. It is surprisingly light which is nice, but overall it is just bad. It's far too close to the headphone plug, so it is generally out of reach for most times you are using the headphones, meaning that monitor button is too cumbersome to find/use versus just taking out one of the earbuds to listen to outside noise. That button is also very small on the side of the puck and is hard to find with my hand and distinguish it versus the switch to turn ANC off, so again, it just takes way too long and is unintuitive to go into 'monitor' mode if you're trying to quickly hear what was on the P.A. I would have much preferred the puck to be where the individual earbud lines come together, but maybe the weight was too much there and pulled earbuds out or something. Maybe integrated with a clip? I don't know, but it could definitely be better than it currently is.-lose out on other small luxuries of NC50 or NC80 bluetooth variants. These earbuds are not magnetic, so they don't stay together when traveling and prevent tangled cords. The box comes with additional earbud tips and fins, but they just come in a plastic baggie, not a specific holster. The bluetooth variants of these earbuds, the NC50, has all of this and a better 'monitor' button for just $25 more. It's not a dealbreaker, but I do miss the small perks of higher-priced items.-$50 wired earbuds. The price may be great for ANC headphones, but it's 2018 and these are wired buds. Great for my office or Nintendo Switch, but nearly everything is Bluetooth now, and many phones don't even have headphone jacks. These aren't professional headphones for studio use; we're competing with cheap, often free, earbuds for non-primary devices. If you just have to have ANC and need wired headphones for some devices, this value can't be beat. But for most people I would recommend getting the NC50 bluetooth version and sticking with some earbuds you inevitably already have lying around for wired devices. Unless you find these on sale or $50 is worth ANC to you versus free buds you already have. The ANC on these headphones means there is a battery that needs to be charged anyway, so it doesn't even really have that advantage over a pair of bluetooth headphones.So there you have it! The best ANC wired earbuds you can get for the money, and probably the 'best value' as well with minimal downsides for the cost. But it's still $50 on wired earbuds that still have a battery that needs charged, so I'd really recommend just paying a little extra for the nicer bluetooth pair. Look out on you tube for my video review soon if you'd like to see more! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My go to headphones *by H***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019* These are actually pretty good. The ANC is decent for the price.I also have a set of Bose QC25s. And as one would expect, these don't even come close to those. But on the other had, these are extremely compact and lightweight. And for the size and price, they do work quite well.I use them for eliminating machine noise in cafes. They get rid of the hum of HVAC and refrigerators quite well enough.The sound quality is surprisingly robust. They have rich tones throughout the range. They're not as good as my $250 Bose headphones. But at 1/5 the price, they're a lot more than 1/5 the quality. So that's a win.I actually use these a lot more than I do my Bose, simply because they are sooo convenient and are actually prettygood.My only real complaint is that the little rubber plug covers on the battery are hard to see. Thus they lose one star. But I would not hesitate to buy these again for myself or as a gift. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good features and value for the price - I now own 2! *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2018* I love Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)... I own several pairs of ANC headphones and was looking forward to my first pair of Linner in-ear ANC headphones. Unfortunately, the first pair of NC25s I received appeared to have zero ANC, and I returned them. Linner contacted me and sent me a replacement pair which do work as expected for in-ear ANC. Don't expect the quality of over-the-ear models, but for the money you get decent sounding in ears which will take the edge off of background noises. I appreciate having the controls near my phone, as I find it easy to activate the convenient monitor feature, and the weight of the battery is not pulling on the ear pieces. The 90 degree plug sets the Linner apart from others which just have a straight plug in. I find that music sound quality is quite acceptable - I like bass, and these in-ears can handle bass boost as well as other in-ears that I use. I found myself using the Linner more than other models I own. So, based on my experience with the Linner-provided pair, I did purchase another pair for my wife, which have also worked well.
