I have several other lasers, including a couple diode gantry type lasers and a fiber laser. I needed this to do batch jobs on cork and didn't want to sped too much. My fiber won't do cork and the diodes take too long. Even though this is still a diode laser, the galvo mechanism allows for faster speeds than a gantry type laser. It’s portable, fast, and easy to use. The work area is less than a 4 inch square- but if you want to do small, detailed work on wood this is your best bet. This is my second x-tool. I was willing to spend 5x this price- but this suited my needs better. I use it for wood (1/8 inch) and cardboard. It works well with SVGs or black and white PNGs.
