One advantage they have that I haven't seen mentioned: they can be inserted on TOP of your foot, unlike practically all other insoles that are too long for that. Putting them on top puts the heat where it's needed most, and subjects the insole to less physical stress because body weight is not bearing down on them with each step.But unfortunately, they have a flaw (as another recent reviewer noted). They'll probably last long enough to make it past the 30-day return period, or maybe longer if they aren't used too often. But sooner or later, the wires will break.The newer '2019' version no longer has the splice a few inches up from the orange heating pad, so that probably fixed that weak spot.But on this (as well as the newer version) there is no physical strain relief on the wires where they exit the orange pad... and those are the same extremely fine wires that form the serpentine coil in the heating element. There is a piece of heat shrink tubing on the wires outside of the pad... but since it is not physically attached in any way to the plastic of the pad, it doesn't help prevent wire breakage. In fact, the heat shrink is stiff enough that it may actually make the wires more susceptible to breakage where the exit the pad.The ones I got did heat up quickly, as long as they're inside a fairly well-insulated shoe.But if running off of a 5-volt USB power output (2 x 1.8-amps), they soon became unbearably hot. I found myself wishing they covered about twice as much area as they do. If they are powered by a lower (or adjustable) voltage power source, that would take care of the high temperature, but they still leave most of your foot unheated.In summary, the wires need to have some type of physical strain relief where they enter the pad, and the heating pad itself would be a lot more useful/comfortable if it was longer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good warmers, but heating area is a bit off *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 7, 2018* These are a great idea as it's always the toes. My midsole and heels never get cold. It is somewhat difficult to keep the cords from dropping down inside your boots, but the cord is long enough and I wear a 12-13 size boots. The only issue is the balls of my feet get screaming hot, but not the toes. I ensured the pads were always pushed forward as far as possible. Don't get me wrong, my toes did not get cold and they were comfortable. Luckily, my battery pack has an on/off button. Turning them on and off from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm, I used about 1/2 of a 20,000 mAh pack. It would have lasted until after sunset, easily. This is a great idea and I would buy them again in an instant. I found a 3 foot splitter and put the battery pack on my belt and ran the cord inside my pants and plugged them in once sitting in my deer stand. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Very warm foot warmers. *by N***D on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 1, 2019* These are the best foot warms I have used, and I have tried all kinds. They are super simple to use and hey very nice and hot. I love that they heat the top of my toes and not the balls of my feet like most others. I highly recommend investing in good power Banks. I use these for hunting during Michigan's deer season and these kept my feet very warm. I would love to give these a perfect rating, but I have two big complaints that really need to be addressed. First, the cord needs to be longer. It was a real pain getting these set up with rubber pack boots. Second, the wiring needs to be more durable. I pulled the wires out of both foot warmers and had to splice new wires in.
