## Overview

The SupcoEM60 is a dual-channel digital thermometer designed for professionals needing broad and precise temperature measurement. It supports K-type and J-type thermocouple probes, measures from -200°C to 1300°C (-328°F to 2372°F), and delivers accuracy within ±0.1% of reading plus 0.7°C. Ideal for HVAC, food service, and superheat applications, it offers real-time, min/max, and differential temperature displays for comprehensive monitoring.

## Description

The Supco EM60 dual-input digital differential thermometer with probes is for use in applications requiring a broad range of temperature measurements including superheat measurements, food service applications, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system maintenance. When using a K-type thermocouple, it measures temperature from -200 to 1300 degrees C (-328 to 2372 degrees F). When using a J-type thermocouple, it measures temperature from -200 to 1200 degrees C (-328 to 2192 degrees F). It has a best accuracy of + or - 0.1% of reading + 0.7 degree C (1.4 degrees F). The thermometer accepts K-type thermocouple probes, which have a broader temperature measurement range than a thermistor sensor but provide lower accuracy, or J-type probes, which provide higher accuracy but have a narrower temperature measurement range than a K-type probe. This dual-channel thermometer has two inputs for connecting temperature probes (two probes are included), allowing the operator to measure the temperature of two samples at one time. The LCD screen can display the current temperature measurement for either input channel as well as the difference between the two channels. It can also display the highest or lowest temperature reading for a session. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The thermometer's internal memory can record up to five sets of minimum, maximum, and differential temperature data for future recall. The hold function keeps a measurement on the display so it can be recorded. The operator can set high and low temperature alarms to sound when measurements exceed or drop below the preset limits. The thermometer operates on three AAA batteries (included), and the thermometer will automatically turn off after 20 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. A low-battery indicator alerts the operator when the batteries need to be replaced. Two K-type wire probes are included with the thermometer. A lanyard is included to help protect against accidental drops, and a sensor cover helps protect the inputs from debris.SpecificationsTemperature measurement range, K-type sensor-200 to 1300 degrees C (-328 to 2372 degrees F)Temperature measurement range, J-type sensor-200 to 1200 degrees C (-328 to 2192 degrees F)Resolution0.1 degree C or F below 1832 degrees F; 1 degrees C or F above 1832 degrees FAccuracy+ or - 0.2% reading plus 1 degree C at -200 to -100 degrees C; + or - 0.1% reading plus 0.7 degrees C at -100 to 1300 degrees C (+ or - 0.2% reading plus 2 degrees F at -328 to -148 degrees F; + or - 0.1% reading plus 1.4 degrees F at -148 to 2372 degrees F)Operating environment temperature and humidity0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F); 80% maximum relative humiditySample rate1 time per secondPower supplyAAA batteries (three, included)Weight180 g (6.35 oz.)Dimensions*121 x 60 x 30 mm/4.76 x 2.36 x 1.18 (H x W x D)*H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Digital thermocouple thermometers measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Thermocouple thermometers are composed of two conductors of different metals, usually alloys of the same metal, which touch at the sensor end of the thermometer. The difference in conductivity between the two metal pieces produces a voltage flow between the sensor end and the open end of each conductor, which can be used to determine the temperature. Different alloys are used for different temperature ranges. Thermocouple thermometers are used in applications that require a large temperature range and do not require a high degree of accuracy. These thermometers are used in kilns, turbine exhaust systems, and furnaces.Supco manufactures test instruments and replacement parts for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The company, founded in 1945, is headquartered in Allenwood, NJ.What's in the Box?Supco EM60 dual-input digital differential thermometer(2) K-type thermocouple wire probes(3) AAA batteriesLanyardInstructions

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐ Good product
*by D***A on June 15, 2025*

Great tool for the price. Used it now a few times monitoring bearing temperatures. Works well but takes a little time to accurately report temperature when you first turn it on but temperature reading stabilizes after a minute or two.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, doesn't cost alot.
*by D***C on February 11, 2012*

This device works well and is very accurate. I bought it to monitor before and after coil temps on my heat pump. Two things I would improve upon. First, the lens is quite soft and I easily scratched it the first day, just handling it and hooking it up. Novus scratch remover took out all but the deepest scratch. I would think that in the field, this lens would be a mess in short order. However, mine will always be inside now, in one spot, so this won't be a problem. Second, this thing is kind of hard to hang on to. They angled off a lot of the edges and it makes it kind of "slippery".I personally don't care for the beep every time I turn it on or off but I suppose that feature would be useful in the field.I would definitely buy this again, it's priced right and functions well. If I were a pro, I might look for a unit with a harder lens.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a great little tool for the money!

This meter device "just the right size" for on-the-job hand tool use. Not so small it gets lost or dropped: it has a small lanyard to attach it to you, or to hang it on something close by, and the display is great.Pros to consider:1: Small but not too small, and it looks as if it costs more than it does.2: Uses 3 AAA batteries so maybe the battery life will not be too short.3: It comes in a nice protective case and is NOT heavy.4: It comes with two good type K thermocouples.5: It has a perfect sized display for field use as well!6: I used it with my refrigeration work to calculate supercooling with ease. The cons for this device:1: It is made in China, not Taiwan or other better places. Here in #2 is why that matters....2: The warrantee after the 30 day Amazon warrantee is pure crapola! If it dies a few months from now, you have to not only provide copies of all your original purchase paperwork like always, but have to send with it a $20 money order to have them repair this thing that you paid just over $20 for. Yeh, right. Obviously, you may just have to buy another one = no real substantial good warrantee.3: If you drop it very far, it is probably toast.... shattered hard plastic. However, most things are rather hard breakable plastic any more right? So, this is just more of the same.4: My first unit beeped when turned on, but the display was completely dead, so be willing to be flexible & forgiving there. Amazon IMMEDIATELY sent out a second unit and gave me a free return shipping label. (I love Amazon!)5: You cannot calibrate your unit. It is not guaranteed to be super accurate, but most others are not either, soooo? Now, my second unit seems to work perfectly! It is easy to figure out and use. I think it will be perfect for my occassional refrigeration testing use. It has a "T1 - T2" function that is GREAT to use! You will instantly merely llok and see your superheat or supercool numbers in the T2 position on the screen. (By the way, I also have a Supco power monitor I have used for the past 2 years. It records volts and amps on your computer screen.... this is a great tool, so be encouraged to consider Supco a good value(possibly 2nd) product line in general when considering this product. It is certainly not the best you can buy, but, it is pretty good stuff, I like it, and I recommend it to you as such. Buy and enjoy for you could spend a WHOLE LOT more money to do the same thing. :-)
