The opening and closing mechanism works well and the umbrella gives good coverage being a good size. When open it appears quite sturdy. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it out in the rain yet ( which is somewhat unusual for the west of Scotland). First impression is that I am pleased with this item. A very minor criticism is that it is a little heavy.
