The PERIBOARD-409 U is a USB keyboard which offers a 5.9 ft long cable. It has compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10. If you are facing any issues with double lettering please adjust your computers settings as described below: 1.Open the "Control Panel" and click “Ease of access Center”, Click “Make Keyboard Easier to Use”, Check “Turn on Filter Keys” under “Make it easier to type”, “Apply” these setting. 2.Go to “Keyboard Properties” in “Control Panel”. Review: Compact realistic feel - If you need a keyboard on a stand to hover over other hardware then look to this one. Price is nice, feel is very good, keys work well, usb cord just the right length for computer hub and most important it has a small foot print. German engineered, this board is better than the keyboard on your laptop. It does not have a height adjustment kick stand legs but it is on an angle when layed flat. I used a cord to hold it to my height adjusting swivel stand. Perfect to turn it if i have to. My former key pad was too wide which is the main reason i made this purchase & i got this used but it looked brand new when it was shipped, on a sunday as well! Plastic was still on the top of the board with original package, box & etc.. good job from the seller. 2 days and im back to mixing & typing.
Review: 4.5 stars, mostly fine but scroll lock key gets hit too much - The problem I was trying to solve by buying this was that my old keyboard has a number pad on it and is really long. I don't need a number pad and there were times when there was too much distance between the right side of the keyboard and my mouse, which became very inconvenient. So I bought this keyboard. The price is good, the keys feel good when they type, and the key action is fine. The size of the keyboard is good. Sometimes I arrange things on my desk in several different ways, and the old keyboard was too long to fit in some of the locations where I was putting it. This is much smaller so that is good. Cord length is fine, and I was able to plug it in and use it immediately. I like the fact that the keys are dedicated and aren't sharing functions with other keys (there aren't 2 functions on the same key that you have to select from, like there are on some other keyboards). Basically it is good. The biggest downside that I see is that the location of the scroll lock key is such that somehow I keep hitting it by accident and a blue light comes on (out of the 3 lights that can come on at the upper left side, it's the one on the far right). Nothing bad happens as a result of this, just the blue light is annoying. To fix it I just hit the scroll lock key again and it's over. So it's easy to fix. But this does happen on a semi-regular basis. Sometimes the caps lock key comes on when I hit it by accident (center light), but that used to also happen on my old keyboard sometimes so I don't think there is any change in that compared to the old. Mostly it is the scroll lock key I hit by accident. I recommend that you don't throw away the little manual that comes with it, because the lights aren't labeled clearly, so if the scroll lock light comes on, you will have to look up what the light is in the manual in order to turn it off. I don't use the function keys that often so it's mostly irrelevant, but the function keys aren't labeled. But they also aren't labeled on a lot of other keyboards. So that's not different than my old keyboard. Overall, I am satisfied and this keyboard has solved my issue of removing the number pad and being able to fit better on my desk in certain configurations. I've only been using this a few days so this review is based on using it that length of time. If there was more space between the main keys and the scroll lock key so I don't keep hitting it, I'd say this is almost perfect. But it's fine and I like this better than the old keyboard so I'm satisfied with it.

**Q: Why is the 1 in the upper left corner always illuminated?  Can it be turned off?**
A: I'm not sure, but my "1" and all of the numbers or symbols are never illuminated.  I think I turned off the keyboard illumination as soon as I connected the keyboard.  It's been so long ago I don't remember how I turned off the illumination but I do recall that there were instructions on how to turn off the glow.

**Q: What are the keyboard stroke combinations used when using the embedded numeric keypad?**
A: This keyboard does not have a numeric keypad. The numbers are across the top of the keyboard and are used without any combination keys. The symbols above the numbers are used by holding the SHIFT Key and pressing the appropriate symbol.

**Q: Is the keyboard, wired or wireless using a USB adapter?**
A: it's wired into a USB port.

**Q: Does anyone experience any lag when typing?**
A: No I do not have any lag issues.

If you need a keyboard on a stand to hover over other hardware then look to this one. Price is nice, feel is very good, keys work well, usb cord just the right length for computer hub and most important it has a small foot print. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Embedded/Industrial Applications

We use these keyboards religiously for our manufacturing facility, where two very important features (to us) stick out: 1. Size. It's nice and compact with relatively good feel. 2. Numlock doesn't change the middle of the keyboard into a numeric wasteland. The second of these is super important, since many of our machines turn on numlock by default after reboot, which kills the expected behavior of most compact keyboards. That this unit doesn't is a total blessing. It otherwise works fine with no drama, so I'm totally comfortable rating 5 stars and buying these by the dozen.
