This sounds interesting for sure. It will definitely adhere insects to skin. Also a liquid latex so it can be reused. Apply liquid latex to your skin, place the insect into the application area, let set. This way, you can remove the prosthetic and reuse it. Apply the prosthetic with the spirit gum. But for a 1 time use, you can definitely use the spirit gum to apply the insect(s) straight to the skin. **Q: Will this dry out in the bottle if I store it for 5-6 months?** A: I believe it depends on whether it’s open and maybe how frequently. The constant exposure to air (we used it for facial prosthetic application) made our small bottle dry out by the final night. I hope this helps! **Q: Will this work on lightweight masquerade mask?** A: It will hold up, but depending how heavy the masquerade mask is and how oily/sweaty the skin can get will determine how long it will hold. To simply answer your question, yes. **Q: Want to put fake mustache over real mustache….will this hold?** A: It did not hold for me ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not vegan, contains shellac *by on Reviewed in the Netherlands April 16, 2025* Unfortunately it is not vegan as it contains shellac. The seller should have included the list of ingredients in one of teh pictures or in the description of the item. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cosplayer must-have! *by on Reviewed in the United States April 30, 2025* Let me start off by saying I'm a cosplayer and Mehron products have always been dependable. I can pretty regularly blindly buy something and trust that it's going to work.Spirit Gum is no exception to that rule; I know a lot of people express having trouble with it, but application technique goes a long way! My advice is to make sure you clean the area first with an alcohol wipe (make sure your hands are clean, too). Then use the applicator to apply and spread the Spirit Gum on the desired area and give it a little bit of time to partially dry. Next, take your finger and lightly dab it, just enough to warm the product up and make it tacky and just lightly enough that you don't smear or remove the product. Then it's ready to stick! Most recently, I've used this product to stick an LED on my face for a Detroit: Become Human cosplay, and it stayed on for the entire convention, through heat and sweat. It also came off nice and easy with the spirit gum remover!I have sensitive skin, so I will note that the spirit gum makes my skin a bit red after application. However, I do not experience burning or breakouts after, which is HUGE because there are a lot of products I can't use due to my sensitivities!I also want to point out that the small bottle is the perfect size to pocket and keep on you during conventions while cosplaying for quick emergency fixes. ## Frequently Bought Together - Mehron Makeup Spirit Gum & Remover Combo Kit | Spirit Gum Adhesive and Remover | Professional Cosmetic Glue for Face, Skin, & Body - Mehron Makeup Liquid Latex | SFX Makeup | Halloween | Latex Glue for Skin | Prosthetic Glue 1 fl oz (30 ml) (Clear Flesh) - Mehron Makeup Setting Powder | Loose Powder Makeup | Perfect for Halloween 1 oz (28 g) (Neutral) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/752889797-costume-for-all-occasions-dd118ar-spirit-gum-and-removal](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/752889797-costume-for-all-occasions-dd118ar-spirit-gum-and-removal) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
