Dieses Taschenbuch über den Aconcagua bietet ein leichtes Basiswissen über die verschiedenen Wege auf den höchsten Berg Südamerikas. Dies aber in einer sehr sachlich, nüchternen Art und nicht mehr ganz aktuell. Vorfreude auf die Besteigung dieses interessanten Fast-Siebentausenders bietet dieses Buch nicht; meine Vorfreude konnte ich mehr über das Internet und drei ältere Besteigungsberichte vergrößern: 1892 durch Sir Martin Conway, das z.B. der Deutsche Alpenverein in seiner Bibliothek führt - 1953 Thomas E. Taplins Bericht aus der Sicht aller Expeditionsteilnehmer und aus 1994, Ernst Holls Bericht über seine Alleinbesteigung des Berges.Wenn man dann selbst den Berg besteigt, stellt man fest, dass sich vieles (logistisch) verändert hat, aber die Stimmung im Team und am Berg geben diese vorgenannten Bücher sehr gut wieder - und gut geschrieben sind sie alle.Aktuelle Informationen sind im Netz ausreichend zu finden - da benötigt man diesen Guide von Jim Ryan nicht unbedingt.
